Raising the game

The first computerized Atlas Copco raise-boring machine, the Robbins 97 RL C, is to be used for shaft sinking on the Tyin hydro-power project. The rig will be used by Skanska Raiseboring to install a surge shaft 436 m long and 4.4 m in diametre. The new hydro will replace an existing plant built in the 1940s.
